Azad for use of funds to develop infrastructure in schools
Jammu, Mar 17 (UNI) Chief Minister Gulam Nabi Azad, today urged all the representatives of Legislature to use their Constituency funds in the development of schools.
In replying to a supplementary question, Chief Minister said despite limited resources Legislators should provide funds under Constituency development scheme as they have, not spent on roads and water schemes.
Minister of state for Roads and Buildings Gulchain Singh Charakabout informed the Upper House that 2435 schools have been upgraded from primary to middle standards, 325 schools from middle to high schools and 240 schools from high school to higher secondary standard in the state since 2002.
Mr Charakabout said upgradation of schools is done on the basis of the recommendations of district development board concerned, Ministers, MLCs and public representatives subject to feasibility and availablty of the resources.
