AP govt keeps GO 72 in abeyance
Hyderabad, Mar 17: Andhra Pradesh Government has issued orders accepting the final report of the One Man Commission on 610 GO and kept in abeyance the controversial GO 72 issued on March four.
The orders were issued yesterday.
The Opposition parties alleged that GO 72 was intended to nullify the effect of the GO 610, which provided for repatriation of the Government employees from other regions, working in Telangana to their respective areas.
The State Government had appointed the Girglani Commission to go into the implementation of the 610 GO, which was issued in the wake of Telangana agitation in 1969 to rationalise employment and provide more opportunities to the locals.
The cabinet at a recent meeting accepted the Commission report, which stated that injustice was meted out to Telangana and suggested remedial measures.
In an all party meeting called by the Government, the opposition parties demanded the scrapping of GO 72 as it was contrary to the spirit of the Presidential Order and GO 610.
