Ahamed to chair Ambassadors' conference in Doha

New Delhi, Mar 17 (UNI) Minister of State for External Affairs E Ahamed will chair a conference of Ambassadors of India based in West Asian countries, including the Gulf, in Doha on March 19.

The conference will focuss on the current situation and emerging trends in the West Asian region, developments in India's relations with the countries in the West Asia and Gulf region, with particular focus on economic and commercial matters, defence and security cooperation, consular and administrative issues and welfare issues.

The meeting would also involve discussion on Palestine issue, after the formation of Hamas Government, Israel after Ariel Sharon, developments in Iraq and Iran and their implications for India. The last such meeting was held in Dubai in December 2004.
