UN compound in south Sudan attacked, casualties
GENEVA, Mar 16 (Reuters) The UN refugee agency said today two armed gunmen had attacked its compound in southern Sudan, shooting dead a local guard and leaving an expatriate staff member and another guard in a critical condition.
Details of the attack, which occurred last night in Yei, south Sudan, were sketchy but the two wounded employees were in hospital in Juba and would be evacuated to Nairobi, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) said in a statement.
