Three shot dead in Karnal village

Karnal, Mar 16 (UNI) Three persons of a family, including a woman were gunned down at Hathlana village in the district today, police said.

According to police, Hem Raj (70), his son Jangli Ram (35), who were undergoing life imprisonment in the murder of Maman of the same village over a land dispute in 1999, had come to the village on parole to celebrate Holi. They were gunned down allegedly by the relatives of Maman early this morning, police said.

Hem Raj's wife Kesho Devi (65) also fell prey to the bullets while his another son Randhir managed to escape from the scene.

A FIR has been lodged against eight persons including four woman, at Nissing police station. However, no arrests have been made so far.
