Tenure of Kochar commission extended

New Delhi, Mar 16 (UNI) The tenure of Justice R J Kochar Commission, set up to inquire into the collapse of Daman Ganga Bridge, has been extended by six months beyond March 12.

A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

Finance Minister P Chidamabaram told newspersons after the meeting that the Commission of Inquiry was given extension as it could not complete the work.

The bridge, linking Nani Daman and Moti Daman, collapsed on August 28, 2003.
