Tamil film producer issues threat, held
Chennai, Mar 16 (UNI) Noted Tamil film producer Sivasakthi Pandian was today arrested for allegedly threatening the office-bearers of the Tamil Film Distributors Association Council.
Mr Pandian made out the threat to Association offce-bearer Anbu Chezhiyan, when the joint meeting of the Tamilnadu Film Distributors Federation and Tamil Film Producers Council was held here yesterday.
Producers and distributors took part in the meeting which was presided over by producer A M Rathinam and distributor federation president Arulpathy.
When the meeting was on, Mr Anbu Chezhiyan had received a call in his mobile, reportedly from Sivasakthi Pandian who threatened him of dire consequences.
Mr Anbu Chezhiyan, in his complaint to the Chennai City Police Commissioner, also alleged that Mr Pandian had reportedly used abusive language.
Acting on the complaint, Police arrested Pandian and remanded him in custody. During interrogation, Pandian claimed that it was Anbu Chezhiyan who had actually threatened him of dire consequences.
