Talks between CBI and Pak's FIA on March 21-22

New Delhi, Mar 16: Technical-level talks between the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Pakistan's Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on various issues including arms and human trafficking and illegal immigration will be held here on March 21-22, an External Affairs Ministry spokesman said today (Mar 16, 2006).

The talks are in pursuance of the understanding reached at Home Secretary-level talks in August 2005 during the second round of the Composite Dialogue Process (CDP).

Mr Vijay Shanker, Director, CBI, will lead the Indian delegation at the talks while the Pakistan side will be headed by Mr. Tariq Pervez, Director General, FIA.

''The talks will cover issues of concern for the two agencies including human trafficking, arms smuggling, immigration related matters, narcotics related crime, criminal syndicates and other areas of interest,'' the spokesman added.
