Spurious liquor unit busted, teacher among three held
Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh, Mar 16 (UNI) The excise police busted a spurious liquor unit and arrested three persons, including a teacher at Gangadhar in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh.
Acting on information, the District Excise police raided the unit, located in a farm land and seized spurious liquor packed in bottles, a machinery unit and fake labels, according to district excise officials today.
Those arrested included a primary school teacher and two of his associates. However, the kingpin of the racket escaped and police are on the look out for him.
The accused used to bring the bottles and labels from Karnataka, fill them up with the spurious liquor and supply the stuff through dealers based in Tamil Nadu and wine dealers near Chitoor district, according to police.
