RTC Employees union to hold protest demos
Hyderabad, Mar 16 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) Employees union today said the unions would organise protest demonstrations infront of all RTC depots in the State from March 27 to 29.
Addressing a press conference here, RTC Employees union President B Rama Rao pointed out that the government was yet to pay 2.5 per cent DA to the RTC employees as promised last year. It has also stopped the recruitment to fill the vacancies in RTC. The government was outsourcing the RTC activities to private organisations without informing the employees unions, he alleged.
The employees union had taken the decision to hold protest demonstrations at all bus stations and depots from March 27 to 29 at a meeting held on March 14.
Stating that the government has also failed to implement the pay revision in RTC as announced by the government recently, Mr Rao threatened that the employee unions would intensify its agitations in future.
