Rocket launcher, 45 cartridges recovered in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad, Mar 16 (UNI) A country-made rocket launcher and 45 hand-made cartridges were recovered by the police near the Lal Bahadur Shastri stadium in Bapunagar locality here.

Police Inspector N K Barot said the ammmunition, lying in the open, was recovered last evening.

Further investigations are on, Mr Barot said.

This is the third instance of arms recovery in this locality in the past week.

On March 9, eight persons were arrested in connection with the recovery of 15 country-made weapons, including crude rocket launchers and country-made guns, from Shahpur, Rakhial and Bapunagar areas, police said.

In another case, three persons were nabbed, including one from Gwalior, and a pistol of Chinese-make loaded with nine rounds of ammunition, a country-made gun and a Japanese made gun were recovered from them.
