OIL India appoints M R Pasrija as CMD
New Delhi, Mar 16 (UNI) State-owned Oil India Ltd (OIL) today announced the appointment of Mulkh Raj Pasrija as its chairman and managing director.
Mr Pasrija was director of finance of OIL for five years before taking over as the CMD.
Prior to this, SK Patra had been temporarily appointed OIL's chairman-cum-managing director after the superannuation of Ranjit Kumar Dutta from the top post.
Though Mr Pasrija was selected to succeed Mr Dutta, his appointment was opposed by several quarters.
Various organisations, including the influential All Assam Students Union, had been demanding appointment of an Assamese as the next OIL chairman.
