NC member threatens self-immolation in house

Jammu Mar 16 (UNI) Alleging the Jammu and Kashmir Government with discrimination against the earthquake-affected Kupwara district in disbursement of relief and compensation, a National Conference MLA today threatened to commit self-immolation in the house for not being given the time to raise the issue.

As the Speaker Tara Chand announced that question hour was over and directed to move the calling attention motions, Mr Qaiser Jamshed Lone stood up on his seat and said that he wanted to raise the matter relating to ''discrimination'' against the Kupwara district in disbursement of the relief to affected people, who were out on the roads and streets agitating against the administration.

When the Chair did not heed his request, the member threatened to committing suicide in the house if he was not given time to raise the issue. Later, the MLA staged a walkout.
