MLA asks ultras to return to Kashmir to join peace efforts
Jammu, Mar 16 (UNI) Independent MLA Usman Majid today termed the arrest of chief of Hizbul Mujahideen Syed Salahuddin in Pakistan occupied Kashmir as a ''big insult and humiliation''and urged the militants to cross back to Jammu and Kashmir to join peace efforts.
Participating in a discussion in the legislative assembly, the MLA from Bandipora expressed concern over the reported inhuman treatment meted out to Salahuddin and his associates, who were recently arrested in Muzaffarabad PoK.
Majid said ''It is the right time for all these extremists to realise the humiliation they have faced at the hands of those who had patronised them for paralysing the economy of the state and to keep the pot of violence boiling in Jammu and Kashmir.'' ''As a result of these elements, our state is deprived of all economic opportunities and progress,'' he said adding the humiliation of these elements is a clear signal to those who believe in violence and see for themselves how their perpetrators treat them at the end.
