K'taka Govt criticised for not checking leptospirosis
Bangalore, Mar 16 (UNI) A congress MLC today criticised the Karnataka Government for failing to take action to check the spread of the dreaded leptospirosis or rat fever in the State.
Raising the issue through a special mention, V S Ugrappa said the epidemic had spread in several districts of North Karnataka and more than 50,000 people were suffering from it for the past several weeks.
Mr Ugrappa said there was severe shortage of medicine and medical staff in Government hospitals to cure the disease.
Council Chairman V R Sudarshan asked the member to take up the issue under Rule 330 for a detailed discussion as it was of public importance.
