Jammu-Srinagar National Highway closed due to landslides
Srinagar, Mar 16 (UNI) Traffic on the 300-km Srinagar-Jammu National Highway, the lifeline of the Kashmir valley, was suspended today due to landslides following incessant rainfall in past 24 hours.
A traffic police spokesman said the highway was blocked by the landslides at Nashiri, about 165 km from here.
He said the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) men were working overtime to clear the landslides and restore traffic on the highway.
The spokesman said the two-way traffic would be allowed on the highway once the road stretch between Ramban and Batote was cleared of landslides.
