J and K Council condemns Varanasi blasts
Jammu, Mar 16 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council today unanimously adopted a resolution condemning the Varanasi serial blasts on March 7, in which twenty people were killed and several injured.
Minister for Housing, Urban Development and Forests Tariq Hammed Karra moved a resolution, which was unanimously passed by the members condemning the blasts as inhuman and an attempt to hurt the secular traditions of the country.
Describing the blasts as a crime against humanity, he said perpetrators of violence have no faith no matter in which religion they are born adding their only intention is to create communal tension.
"At a time when the peace process is continuing between India and Pakistan, it seems such elements do not want to make it happen. People here have always exhibited great patience frustrating the designs of those who resort to such provocative acts," he added.
The move was supported by national Panthers Party President Bhim singh, Mr Abdul Rehman Tukroo, Mr Aashok Sharma, Mr Bilal Lodhi and Ms Sakeena Itoo.
