Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 16 (UNI) The Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. will set up 19 LPG stations in Kerala, Deputy General Manager and State level corrdinatior (Kerala and Lakshadweep) B Ashok said today.

With two stations already operational, Kerala could be the first State in the Country where auto lpg stations would be available right across the State, he said addressing a meeting of the Public Relations Society of India, Trivandrum chapter.

He said IOC was actively involved in the development of 'Kisan Seva Kendras', the rural outlets targeting the needs of the villagers in the Country.

Condom vending machines set up in association with the Hindustan Latex Ltd at retail stations in Tamil Nadu and Kerala have also become a successful exercise.

With active support of various State Government agencies, the IOC was able to take extensive steps to curb the misuse of subsidised LPG, he said.

The IOC has also plans to set up its high performance diesel Xtramile in four depots of the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) and in fishing sector. Introduction of LPG for outboard fishing boats, in association with Surya Marine has brought down the running cost for the fishermen, drastically reducing their operational costs.
