Heroin worth Rs 8 cr seized in Palakkad

Palakkad, Mar 16 (UNI) In a major seizure, heroin worth Rs eight crore in the international market, has been seized by Narcotic Control Bureau officials at Shournur Railway station in this district of Kerala, official sources said today.

Three people--Moideen(46), Abdul Razak(46) and Uzman (45)-- were arrested in this connection.

The seizure was made when they reached the railway station enroute to Chennai yesterday morning.

The sources said the heroin was meant to be smuggled out to Saudi Arabia though the Chennai Airport.

The arrest was made on the basis of a tip off, the sources added.
