Governor eulogises the Indian Army for its heroics

Written by: Staff

Jammu, Mar 16 (UNI) Eulogising the heroic role of the Indian Army in war as well as peace, Jammu and Kashmir Governor Lieutenant General (Retd) S K Sinha today said the army has scripted a saga of valour during its chequered military history.

Speaking at a function to disburse relief to the World War II veterans of Jammu and Kashmir, provided by Royal Commonwealth Ex-Services League (RCESL) here today, Gen Sinha said Winston Churchill, former Prime Minister of Britain, had recognised the contribution of the Indian Army by saying that never had such a huge force of volunteers been raised.

General Sinha, himself a surviving World War veteran, referred to the two century old Indo-British association saying both the countries have gained and lost from each other.
