French Aviation components producer to set up plant in India
Bangalore, Mar 16 (UNI) French Aeronautical spares manufacturer, Recaero, will set up an Indian Subsidiary with an initial investment of Rs ten crore and the foundation for the new plant will be laid at Bidadi, near here, tomorrow.
The company, Racaero India, has already started making aviation components in the country through 15 sub contractors and would continue to depend on them for further production, even after the new plant commenced operations by late this year, Company Chairman Vinay Jha said today.
A specialist and niche aviation component producer, Racaero currently produced about five per cent of the total global demand and it aimed at increasing its share gradually to 20 per cent over the next few years, Company CEO Rhierry Pobeau said.
He said the Indian plant would contribute to 50 per cent of the total turnover of the company over a period of time.
Racaero produced engine parts and body components for aircraft as a OEM supplier and some of its prominent clients included Air Bus, ATR, Snecma, Eurocopter and Sassault Aviation.
Mr Pobeau said the Indian subsidiary would form a huge hub for the growing aviation market in Asia. Though the Indian plant would initially supply parts to its French mother company, it would aim at taking up production for other aircraft manufacturers in the region, including Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Mr Jha said.
Initially, the Indian company would have around 150 skilled personnel on its rolls, Mr Jha said.
