Delhi-Rohtak railwayline electrification to start next fiscal year
Chandigarh, Mar 16 (UNI) The work of electrification of Delhi-Rohtak Railway line will be started during the next financial year, Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said here today.
Mr Hooda said that with the electrification of this railway link, transportation in the NCR would become faster, thus benefiting the people by saving their time.
He expressed his gratitude to the UPA Government, led by Dr Manmohan Singh, for paying attention to the needs of residents of Haryana.
He said that Union Railway Minister Lalu Prasad had, while presenting the Railway budget, announced three ambitious projects benefiting Haryana. These included construction of Rewari-Jhajjar-Rohtak railway line, survey for Loharu-Bhiwani railway line and bringing Ambala and Rewari under the multi-model high axle load freight corridor.
The Chief Minister said that Rewari-Jhajjar-Rohtak railway line would be completed in a time bound manner in the next three years and the State Government has already given its consent to bear 50 per cent of the expenditure of the new railway line.
With the completion of these projects, the longstanding demands of the people of the State would be met, he said.
