Cloudy sky, pleasant weather prevails in Capital
New Delhi, Mar 16 (UNI) A cloud cover enveloped the Delhi skyline with the coolness in the air, caused by the rains experienced by the capital over the last week, persisting today.

The capital has, since last Wednesday, witnessed three spells of rainfall. Last Wednesday saw a sudden burst of hailstorms and rain in Delhi after a thick cloud cover enveloped the skyline towards the evening. Then, Delhi was lashed by heavy rains on Saturday.
Then , on the eve of Holi, light rains lashed Delhi sending the mercury plumetting to nearly 22 degree Celsius.
The sudden turnaround of weather, from the scorching conditions the capital has been experiencing since the beginning of February to the cool climes since last Wednesday, is being attibuted to the influence of an upper air cyclonic storm originating from areas in Rajasthan which has also resulted in fresh rainfall in Himachal and Punjab over the last week.
The coolness in the air is expected to continue for the next few days with the weather office forecasting a partly cloudy sky and thundershowers in Delhi in the next 24 hours.
