Blow Plast on aggressive retail network expansion

Chennai, Mar 16 (UNI) Blow Plast Limited, the marketing arm of the VIP Industries, Asia's largest luggage manufacturer, today announced an aggressive retail network expansion strategy to cater to the burgeoning demand for its range of products.

Talking to newspersons here, Mr Parag Dani, Head-Retail, Blow Plast, said as part of the expansion plan, the company would invest Rs four crores to add 60 to 65 new outlets every year in the next three years.

He said the company was all set to add 42 exclusive showrooms across the country by the end of the fourth quarter of the current fiscal, which would increase the number of showrooms to 126.

"At the national level, Blow Plast is looking at nearly trebling its retail space from the exisiting 43,950 sq ft to 1,22,000 sq ft by the end of March 2007. This will be done through 85 standalone brand stores and 41 franchisee stores," he said.

Mr Dani said the company was aggressively expanding its retail network and VIP would continue with consistent brand building efforts, development of innovative products, merchandise and aggressive campaigns.

In Tamil Nadu, Blow Plast would almost double its retail presence by the end of this month from four showrooms at present to seven.

The total retail area would increase from the current 3,100 sq ft to around 8,000 sq ft by March next, he said.

"We expect our business to grow multifold in the coming years and expect Tamil Nadu to contribute about 35 per cent of the south zone retail sales and about nine per cent of national retail sales," he added.
