Blast in Revenue and Land Settlement office

Aizawl, Mar 16 (UNI) The Revenue and Land Settlement directorate building was extensively damaged when some of the industrial dynamites kept in the premises exploded here last night.

Police here today said gelatin sticks were kept on the floor of the entrance of the office.

The shutter door, nearly all the window panes of the four-storey high building as well as window panes of the building opposite occupied by the Power and Electricity office were completely devastated by the impact, the police said adding, however, no one was injured in the blast.

Police said they have registered a case.

The chowkidar of the office has been questioned by the police but he could not shed any light on the affair.
