Bihar, JK and MP to have assembly bypoll on Apr 24: EC

New Delhi, Mar 16 (UNI) Assembly byelections will be held on April 24 for the Patna West seat in Bihar, the Budhni seat in Madhya Pradesh and Rafiabad, Sangrama, Pattan and Bhaderwa seats in Jammu and Kashmir, the Election Commission announced today.

Nominations for the Patna West seat will open on March 30 and the last date for filing of papers is April 6.

In Jammu and Kashmir and Madhya Pradesh, nominations open on March 31 and close on April 7.

The rest of the poll schedule is the same for all the six constituencies in the three states.

Scrutiny will take place on April 8 and the last date for withdrawal is April 10. Counting will take place on April 27.

Meanwhile, the commission postponed to April 24 the polling day in Visakhapatnam, from March 25.
