Arun Jaitley among others files paper for Rajya Sabha from Gujarat

Ahmedabad, Mar 16 (UNI) Former Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Arun Jaitley, besides Mr Vijay Rupani and Mr Kanjibhai Patel, today filed their nominations as BJP candiates for three out of four Rajya Sabha seats from Gujarat falling vacant this year.

The three dummy candidates for three BJP nominees are state unit general secretary Parsottam Rupala, Ahmedabad city unit president Dharmendra Shah and Mr Ramsing Rathwa.

Mr Pravin Rashtrapal is scheduled to file his nomination tomorrow.

Nominations can be withdran up to March 20 and the elections from Gujarat, if necessary, will be held on March 28.

At present, there are 128 BJP MLAs and 54 Congress MLAs in the 182-seat Gujarat Legisltaive Assembly.
