82 SPO's killed in J K Honorarium to be increased

Jammu, Mar 16 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad today told the state legislative assembly that total 82 special police officers (spo) were killed in jammu and kashmir during the last two years.

While replying to a question, Mr Azad said that the performance of a number of special police officers has remained excellent on operational front in the valley in last two years.

He informed the house the existing strength of spos in the jk police is 22319 and there are paid Rs 1500 per month. As per the rule, the SPO's (grade-i) will get honorarium of rs 2000 per month.

The Chief minister further informed the assembly that a proposal to increase the honorarium of the spoxs has already been sent to the central government.
