300 delegates to attend NIT-C workshop
Kozhikode, Mar 16 (UNI) As many as 300 delegates from southern India will participate in a technical workshop on Free and Open Source Software beginning here on March 18.
Jointly organised by the National Institute of Technology-C and Tata Consultancy Services in association with other computer institutions, the two day programme would be inaugurated by NIT-C director G R C Reddy, Dr K P Mohandas, Dean (PG Students) told reporters here yesterday.
Experts from leading firms Yahoo, Hewlett Packard, Wipro, Novell and Robert Bosch, among others, would deliberate on free and open source software movement, which enabled users to develop and share computer software without payment of huge amount as license fee, he said.
Besides, NIT-C, the delegates who had confirmed participation were from NITs at Trichy and Surathkal, CET, Thiruvanthapuram, MES Kuttipuram and GEC Thrissur, he added.
