Vaiko pledges to work for AIADMK front victory

Chennai, Mar 15 (UNI) Pledging to work for the AIADMK front victory's in the May 8 Assembly elections, MDMK General Secretary Vaiko today said there was no hitch in identification of constituencies and negotiations with the AIADMK were progressing cordially.

Addressing a joint press conference with Dalit Panthers of India (DPI) General Secretary Thol Tirumavalavan, who called on him at MDMK headquarters 'Thyagam' here, Mr Vaiko said he would be happy if the party was allotted 15 reserved constituencies, as reported in a section of the media.

He said the MDMK and DPI had joined hands with the AIADMK to protect the interest of Tamils and the alliance had been widely welcomed by the people.

Stating that the AIADMK would win a majority and form a government on its own, he said AIADMK supremo J Jayalalithaa would lead the state on the path of progress in the 21st century.

The MDMK and DPI had been allotted 31 and nine seats respectively in the AIADMK alliance.

Mr Thirumavalavan said both parties had aligned with the AIADMK to protect the interests of not only Sri Lankan Tamils but also Tamils living across the globe.
