Spirit of brotherhood prevails in communally-sensitive Gulbarga
Gulbarga, Mar 15 (UNI) For the first time, Hindus and Muslims joined hands in the city to celebrate the two-day festival of colours, Holi, beginning today.
People from both the communities were seen spraying colours on each other and rejoicing across the communally-sensitive city, which witnessed frequent clashes between them.
The joint celebration was the result of efforts made by a handful of police officials, Tight security arrangements had been made in the district to avoid any untoward incident.
Over 1000 armed police personnel were deployed at important places of worship and other sensitive areas in the district.
