Rains forecast across the country

Pune, Mar 15 (UNI) Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places in Orissa, west Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Marathwada.

Rain or thundershowers are also likely to occur at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal, Sikkim, Jharkhand, Bihar, east Uttar Pradesh, north Rajasthan, Chattisgarh, Madhya Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, interior Karnataka, Kerala and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir, and at many places in west Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal and Madhya Pradesh.

Rain or thundershowers have also occurred at a few places in east Rajasthan, Vidarbha, Rayalseema and at isolated places in east Uttar Pradesh, west Rajasthan, Chattisgarh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and south interior Karnataka.

Day temperatures were above normal in Tripura and in some parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh and coastal Tamil Nadu. They were appreciably to markedly below normal in Sikkim, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Vidarbha and north interior Karnataka and in some parts of west Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal. They were below normal in north Orissa, northwest Madhya Pradesh and south interior Karnataka and in some parts of Rayalseema. They were normal over the rest of the country.

Night temperatures were appreciably below normal in some parts of Jammu and Kashmir and were below normal in some parts of Madhya Pradesh, south Madhya Maharashtra and interior Karnataka. They were appreciably to markedly above normal in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, coastal Andhra Pradesh and in some parts of Gangetic West Bengal, east Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and in remaining parts of Madhya Pradesh. They were above normal in some parts of Assam, Meghalaya, west Uttar Pradesh and Punjab. They were normal over the rest of the country.
