One dies in car explosion north of Paris

PARIS, Mar 15 (Reuters) One person was killed when a car that appeared to be booby-trapped exploded north of Paris today, in what police said was a criminal act.

Police said they did not rule out the incident being an attack motivated by revenge.

''It is a criminal act, apparently a booby-trapped car,'' a police spokesman said, adding the police had not excluded the possibility that the incident was a settling of scores.

The French fire brigade said they were called shortly before 1530rhs to deal with a burning car. They did not give any further information.
