NC to field candidate against Azad

Jammu Mar 15 (UNI) National Conference (NC) patron Farooq Abdullah today said he will not contest in the by-elections to be held in the state and said the party would field a candidate against Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad in Bhaderwah constituecy.

While talking to mediapersons after attending a party function here, he made it clear that he had no plans to contest the by-elections, ''only local candidates will be fielded and that too, according to the wishes of the people,'' he said .

He exhorted the party workers to take the policies and programmes of the party to the masses and get ready for the general election in the state as the present congress-people democratic party coalition government has only two years of its tenure left.
