Hyderabad, Mar 14 (UNI) Muslim religious heads here today issued a fatwa against terrorist groups naming themselves after the prophet, even as several organisations decided to launch a campaign to discourage youth of the community from joining such groups.

Leaders from the Jamiat-ul Mashaiq al-Hind and All India Sunni Ulema Board expressed opposition to terror groups naming themselves Lashkar-e-Qahar (Army of the Subduer), Jaish-e-Mohammed and Laskhar-e-Toiba, particularly those which used the Prophet's name.

The Jamiat-ul-Mominath, Hyderabad, too issued a fatwa on this issue.

The Muslim religious heads said terrorist groups were using Holy names to attract religious-minded youngsters.

Jamiat-ul-Mominath Director Moulana Mastan, told UNI that said Islam did not supported violence. ''Islam was a religion of peace and using holy names against peace was a disrespect to the religion.

Islam was a religion, which did not even allow harm to a tree or an animal,'' he said.

Jame Nizamia, (Hyderabad) Vice-Chancellor Mufti Khaleel Ahmed told UNI here that in Islam there was no place for terrorism. In the garb of religion, one could not go about doing bad in the world, he said.

Some Muslim organisations here are planning to launch a campaign to discourage Muslim youth from falling prey to violent groups.
