Insurance Cos told to speed up formalities in quake cases
Srinagar, Mar 15 (UNI) In compliance with the Jammu and Kashmir High Court directions, the state government has ordered the insurance companies to immediately complete all the formalities regarding the earthquake-affected people of Baramulla district to disburse relief.
An official spokesman said today that Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Abdul Hamid asked the Oriental Insurance and the National Insurance companies to immediately submit the list of the quake affected people to complete the verification of their cases.
The insurance companies have not so far furnished the list and were once again directed to do complete the formalities as any further delay in the matter would be their responsibility.
The Deputy Commissioner also deputed a team of Revenue official for verifying the ownership cases which have been submitted by the United India Assurance and the New India Insurance Companies.
In all, 27 cases have been received from the United India Assurance and 37 from the New India Insurance.
The cases complete in all respects have to be put before the Insurance Lok Adalat being convened by the High Court on April 17 at Baramulla for providing relief to the quake victims.
