IGNOU's Urdu programmes on Gyan Vani

New Delhi, Mar 15: A special programme in Urdu 'Dabistan-e-Urdu' has been launched through IGNOU's radio channel 'Gyan Vani' from this month.

The programme covered CBSE syllabus for class IX to XII, subjects like Science, Maths, Commerce, Social Science and languages like Urdu, Hindi and English, university sources said.

It could be heard daily for 30 minutes at 1100 hrs and 1900 hrs on FM 105.6 MHz.

Gyan Vani broadcast--for four hours in the morning and evening-- formal and informal phone-in programmes for pre-school level to post graduate level students. Its programmes included live interactive sessions with students to solve their problems.

IGNOU was also exploring possibilities of applications of Open and Distance Learning (ODL) system for continuous knowledge upgradation and training of certain target groups of functionaries in the judicial system of the country.

It had been decided that IGNOU in consultation with the Director of National Judicial Academy, Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) would develop a proposal for further consideration.

The School of Law was developing Post Graduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Regime and Human Rights, Post Graduate Certificate in Cyber Laws and Post Graduate Certificate in Indian Patent law and Procedures.

Meanwhile, IGNOU would hold the term-end exam for Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT), Advanced Diploma in Information Technology (ADIT) and Bachelor of Hotel Management (BHM) in the third week of April instead of its usual time, June.
