Group clash over boat in Pondy

Pondicherry, Mar 15 (UNI) Tension prevailed at Moorthikuppam fishing village today following a clash between two groups.

According to police here, the incident occurred over sharing of a boat provided by a non-governmental organisation towards tsunami relief.

The injured Harikrishnan and Jayavel, leaders of the warring groups, were admitted to the intensive care unit of the government general hospital here.

Police registered a case and heavy police pickets have been posted in the village to prevent any untoward incident. The situation was under control, they said.
