Goverdhan Mehta appointed to NAAC
Bangalore, Mar 15 (UNI) Former Indian Institute of Science Director, Prof Goverdhan Mehta has been appointed Chairman of the Executive Committee of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council.
According to a release from NAAC here today, tenure in the post will be three years.
Prof Mehta was in the limelight recently when he declined to visit the United States after his visa application to visit the country for a lecture at the University of Florida was belatedly granted, after it was rejected at the first instance.
Currently a CSIR Bhatnagar fellow at the IISC, he is a renowned expert in Chemistry and had published over 400 research papers besides developing innovative processes and new technology for industrial applications, .
