Delhi girls, TN boys breeze into semis

Vijayawada, Mar 15 (UNI) Delhi girls and Tamil Nadu boys today breezed into the last four of ICC-AITA Junior Tennis Tournament for U-14 boys and girls being played at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation Stadium here.

In the girls quarterfinals, Delhi's Rishika Sunkara outplayed statemate Shewta C Rana in straight sets 6-4, 6-3 while Mohit Mayur of Tamil Nadu defeated Samip Mehta of Gujarat 6-3, 6-2 in the boys section.

S V Abhishek (AP) won against Yeswanth Nadella (AP) 7-5, 6-1 while Chetan Pandit (AP) stunned Vaikik Munshaw (Guj) 6-0, 6-2. N Sai Karthik (AP) beat S Sidharth (AP) 6-3, 6-3 in the boy's section.

In the girl's section, Aishwarya Agarwal (MP) won easily over Ankita Rana (Guj) 6-0, 6-0, T Nilaya (AP) beat Nova Patel (Guj) 6-1, 6-2. Natallia Khaniejo (Mah) demolished Bhavana Suresh in straight sets 6-0 6-1.

Other results: Boys doubles semi-finals: Samip Mehta and Vaidik (Guj) bt V Abhishek (AP) and Navneet Kumar (UP) 6-4, 6-3 S Siddharth (TN) and N Sai Karthik (AP) bt Amit Chauhan (Chandigarh) and Digvijay Singh (MP) 6-4, 7-5.
