Chelsea will have Ballack if they want him, say Bayern
BERLIN, Mar 15 (Reuters) Bayern Munich will not be able to resist Chelsea if the English champions really want Michael Ballack, Bayern commercial manager Uli Hoeness was quoted as saying today.
''If he (Ballack) gets an offer from Chelsea, there's no way we can come up with a better one,'' Hoeness told today's issue of German weekly Sport Bild.
''There is one club in the world we can't fight with and that's Chelsea because financially, we are not strong enough,'' he added.
Ballack's contract with Bayern expires at the end of the season. The 29-year-old midfielder's agent has said he was very interested in a move to Chelsea.
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has been quoted as saying he wanted the Germany captain at Stamford Bridge and has described the gifted midfielder as one of the best players in the world.
No club, Hoeness said, could match the financial muscle of Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich.
''If Mr. Abramovich wants a player, he will always find a solution and you won't get a chance,'' Hoeness said.
''I don't have any problems with that. It's his money.'' Reuters PDS BS1743
