Chandy distances himself from DIC(K) issue
Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 15 (UNI) Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy today refused to commit himself on the issue of taking veteran leader K Karunkaran's Democratic Indira Congress(K) into the United Democratic Front (UDF).
'It is not the question of any individual's opinion. Now, the situation has changed in the Congress and it is the views of party activists that are being taken into consideration,' he told newspersons here.
He was reacting to questions on whether he was against the entry of the DIC(K) into the UDF in the wake of talks initiated by Congress Working Committee member Veerappa Moily with DIC(K) president K Muraleedharan.
Asked whether he could join hands with the DIC(K) leaders after being their target of criticism for the past one year, Mr Chandy said anything could happen in politics. But he would stand by what he had said earlier.
To another question, he said the UDF had no intention to take political advantage of the problems within the CPI(M).
