Centre institutes award for children achievement

Hyderabad, Mar 15 (UNI) The Union Government's Department of Women and Child Development has instituted an award for the children having outstanding career in various fields.

According to an official release here the award is to give recognition to children with exceptional abilities and outstanding calibre in academics, arts, culture and sports, among others. There will be a gold medal for a child on all India basis and silver medals for one child from each state and union territories.

The Gold medal carries a cash prize of Rs 20,000 and a citation while the silver medallists will be given a cash prize of Rs 10,000 and a citation.

The children between the age group of four to 15 years would be eligible for the award.
