Aizawl, Mar 15 (UNI) Mizoram Governor A R Kohli, who was on a visit to Nagaland, called upon artists to take up the profession as an 'economic activity'.

The Governor was speaking at a 3-day National Level Traditional Painting Workshop at the State Library, Kohima.

Mr Kohli also urged upon them to concentrate, nurture and help in exploiting the situation as an economic activity.

Stating that India represented multiplicity of various civilizations, the Governor said ''Diversity of art and culture is very enormous and somebody has to do justice for this country''.

Nagaland Governor Shyamal Datta, who is also the chairman of NEZCC, said the workshop has given opportunities to the artists of the North East region to foster dialogue, enabling them to better understand and convey a message of the North-East region for the future benefit of Ministry of Art and Culture.
