Chennai, Mar 15 (UNI) Alliott Group, a global network of independent accountants, lawyers and consultants, is scouting for collaborators, trade partners and associates on behalf of its clients, in India.

Announcing this to the media here today, Tax Consult S A (an affiliate firm of the Group) Senior Partner Jean Marie Leclercq said the endeavour was to identify and bring associates from various industries in different countries with diverse strengths together to stimulate growth for benefit.

Essentially, it was focused on mid-sized enterprises in sectors like hotel and leisure, entertainment, retail and advertising.

Tax Consult was located in Belgium, an ideal location for firm to have commercial, distributive and administrative control over the European continent. About 65 per cent of Europe's economic acitivity centred around the region.

Its ''exceptional openness'' was reflected in the fact that over 80 per cent of Belgium's GDP was derived from exports.

Highlighting several advantages for businesses to thrive in Belgium, Tax Consult Partner Jean Golenvaux said the pervailing tax structure there encouraged holding company structure.

The firm was involved in the process of finalising a takeover of a 150 million USD company in Brussels by an Indian company. ''The pre-sale study is at a premature stage,'' the officials said.

Impressed with the Indian law structure, Mr Golenvaux said their firm was engaged in a range of services, including international tax planning, due diligence, business process engineering and outsourcing.

Tax Consult registered a turnover of three million Euro in 2005, catering to around 700 clients.

Noting that India was a secure place to do business, he said it was difficult to assess immediately the potential areas that could be tapped.
