Allahabad boasts of maximum population

Allahabad, Mar 15: The Allahabad district of Uttar Pradesh holds the dubious disntinction of having the maximum density of population in the country.

Distrtict Magistrate Amrit Abhijat, addressing a function, said here recently that against the national average of 324 people per square km and the state average of 578 people per square km, Allahabad has an average of 911 people per square km.

He said that the total population of Allahabad district as per the 2001 national census is 56 lakh.
