31 students injured in a school collapse incident in Kashmir
Baramulla, Mar 15 (UNI) Thirty-one students, including 12 girls, were injured when a portion of a private school collapsed in the frontier district of Kupwara today, official sources said.
They said about 300 students and 12 teachers were holding a meeting in the first floor of Iqra Public middle School at Kalaroos when a portion of the building collapsed.
Sources said 31 students, including 12 girl students, were injured in the incident. The injured were admitted to hospital where one girl student, Zahida Bano of class eight, was referred to Srinagar hospital.
Later, some parents clashed with the teachers near the hospital, sources said.
The parents alleged that most private schools have very old buildings which can collapse any time.
