Vasco hold HAL to goalless draw

Bangalore, Mar 14 (UNI) Vasco Sports Club, Goa, lost an opportunity to move to the second position in the points table as their last league match against Hindustan Aeronautics limited ended in a goalless draw in the second division ONGC Cup 10th National Football League here today.

Though both the teams were tied with ten points each, the Airmen occupied the second place in the table by virtue of higher goal difference and the Goans had to be content with the third position.

However, both the teams have qualified for the final round of the league, scheduled to be held here from the third week of next month along with Army XI, who topped the table with 13 points.

In a lacklustre match, both the teams missed a few chances as they concentrated on defence. While the host striker Nanda Kumar missed as many as three chances an attempt by Goan striker Edmilson Santos was well saved by Gumpe Rime in the 85th minute.
