Two Varanasi blast suspects join their family after release

Varanasi, Mar 14 (UNI) Two persons detained in Hardoi district on Friday in connection with the recent twin blast here, who were released two days ago, this evening joined their family in the Dulahipur area of neighbouring Chandaulli disdtrict.

Senior Superintendent of Police G K Goswami said here that Ansar Ali and Sadiq Ali, who were detained from Hardoi on Friday, after they matched the sketches of two blast suspects released by the police, this evening rejoined their family in the Irani Basti of Dulahipur.

The two youth originally hailing from Iran, but living in the Irani Basti for last many years, before leaving with family for Muzaffarpur (Bihar) four years ago reunited with their relatives here this evening.

Mr Goswami said the two suspects were released in Hardoi on Sunday after the police failed to derive links between them and the blasts in Varanasi on March seven. They have been reunited with their family on the condition that they will cooperate with the police in the high profile case whenever needed, he said.

The two had been detained after they matched with the sketches and were later paraded before the three witnesses who had helped the police TO draw the sketches, Mr Goswami added.

The twin blast at the Sankat Mochan temple and Varanasi railway station had claimed 17 lives, besides causing injury to over 100 others.
