Two minors drown in pond

Jaunpur, Mar 14 (UNI) Two minors drowned in a pond in the Maharajganj area here today.

Police said here that Anupam (7) who had gone to a pond in the Gondalpur village to fetch water for household activities, slipped into deep water.

Hearing his cry for help, two of his friends -- Tripurari (9) and Mukesh (10) -- jumped in the pond, but got drowned.

While Anupam was rescued alive by the villagers, the bodies of two other minors were fished out later.
